1/7/2021 · Windows 10 VM fails with tapdisk error . I figured at this stage I would bring the old system back online and deal with the upgrade as an isolated system. Shut down NAS with upgraded xcp-ng server. Start (original) primary NAS with original Xen server install.
8/3/2016 · xe vm-cd-eject –multiple. If your XenCenter hangs or becomes unresponsive, you can also reset the toolstack from console from a PuTTy session or if XenCenter console is working running the following command: xe-toolstack-restart. Its important to note what caused the XenServer tapdisk error.

I have no idea if this is an XCP problem or a TrueNAS problem, but I suspect TrueNAS.
3/13/2018 · Yesterday one of our SAN experienced some tapdisk error (maybe too stressed). I stopped all VMs, some of the node hung and so I forced the restart of the Xen node. Now all the VMs of this SAN are frozen claiming tapdisk experiecend an error . I have reboot all the XEN server and they replug correctly to the SR, all nodes except the MASTER.
Most likely this is caused by ISOs mounted no longer available. You can do a tail -F /var/log/SMlog to see the detailed message, if it is the same as what Andrew Paternoster mentioned.. Do the following in pool master dom0 will help to eject all mounted ISOs in VMs, 6/27/2014 · That is the tapdisk failure occurred and the VM cannot boot when the data in the vDisk mounted is more than half of the capacity. In the environment, we mount 5 x vDisk to the VM. Each vDisk is 2TB. The data is growing in those vDisk. Original, the VM can work well, but somehow, the VM cannot boot anymore and tapdisk failure occurred.
3/9/2017 · You get tapdisk error when you have mounted a CD into the VM DVD drive and it’s not accessible. Ejecting the ISO should let you start the VM. In your case you mounted another CD and then Ejected it which achieved the purpose.
